2021 Word for year -STEADFAST! Your wins are waiting!

Updated: Dec 30, 2020

2021 word of the year -STEADFAST!

When the Lord began to stir the word STEADFAST for 2021 I was feeling quite weary. Steadfast sounds like hard work, but it is more than that; its faith and grit married. It is an unwavering, resolute, resolved, legs planted, knees locked, kind of stand. -it's about bracing for the wild unrelenting wind and facing it with the same rage. I truly believe this is the year of payback. I also believe the enemy has overplayed his hand in several ways. And I believe we are going to see a year of promises fulfilled as we stand our ground with a steadfast faith! Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then…” Ephesians 6:13-14a NIV

Steadfast is not an emotion or a burst of energy. It is more profound than determination; it is a purpose of heart that weeps with each painful step of continuing on when the heart faints, the mind’s tired, and the body’s week, but your spirit will not allow you to relent. Your dreams hurt; they cost you, but you're willing to pay.

Because of remaining steadfast, shepherds become kings. Joseph’s become prime ministers. Ruth’s find their Boaz, Hannah's become mothers, but all these victories came at a price; betrayals, wanderings, deaths, and barrenness. I could ramble on with Daniels in the lion’s den or his three buddies in the fiery furnace. These triumphant moments happened because of an unrelenting resolve.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to repeat the same battles, or round the same mountain, because I didn’t follow through. No, I want new trials, new struggles, new wins, new mountain tops, new revelations. Sis, a steadfast heart isn’t handed to you; it's birthed from you. (read that again) It's labored over. It’s wept out of you in a carpet sucking surrender. It hurts like hell, and it is oh so wonderful. A steadfast heart sees victories one could never imagine; it is the view from the top of the Himalayas. It is the first step on new shores. It is flags planted in uncharted islands. These wild, rare, and triumphant moments make people scratch their heads and even rage with jealousy. The wins are forged because you refused to turn around when the storm ripped your flesh, and your friends scattered. You said "yes" to Jesus at all cost, and He revealed Himself to you in the fire.

Grit Girls, you have dreams, purposes, and destinies to fulfill. But these grand heaven-sent passions don’t just happen. They need you to sink your teeth into them and not let go! You have sat on the dream long enough. Stop with the reasons why you can’t begin again. You’re not chasing a unicorn sister; you are running down your promises. You are aiming your life towards the purposes and plans God has for you. We win races and hurdle obstacles with small, consistent steps of grit and determination. This is the year to get your edge back and stop the passive chatter! Its time to lean into the discomfort of discipline. Wins come because of training. You no longer want a participant award. You want the trophy of faith. Activated faith. A faith that stood when it was hard, wild, and crazy looking. This is the year you find your edge. You strengthen your legs. You hold your ground. This is the year you rise up and find your ROAR.

No more soft, easy, or comfortable. You are a woman on a mission, a warrior with a call, a girl with a purpose, and a daughter on assignment. Resolve in your heart to run down the promises you have been assured of and take hold of all that is waiting for you in 2021. You are made of such resilience that no matter how many times you have tried before, no matter how many times you have failed, no matter how many haters are saying you’ve attempted this already; the fire is still burning in you, and that light of destiny is flickering. If you're thinking about your dreams right now, then YOU MUST RISE UP AND TRY AGAIN!!! But this time set your face like flint. You have a fresh spark! A new vision. A new pep in your step. A fresh unction to function. This time you're resolved! Your heart is steady, and you are prepared to be unmoving. 2021 is yours to own. I hear the Lord saying “come and get your promises!”

Do not despise your small beginning. The Lord LOVES to see the work begin. See Zechariah 4:10 And dare I say, He loves to see you start again. Try again. Get up again. See Proverbs 24:16

Let’s anchor to the verses below this year- memorize them, print them out, write your vision down that you are turning your life towards, and declare God’s will and purpose over them! You were made to take this world for Jesus! Own your identity in Him. This is your roar cry. This is the jumping out of the boat to walk on the waters in such giant faith that the waves submit to your bold move. You are a steadfast, grit, and grace-filled daughter of the KING. He is on your side, He has weaponized you with His word! He is in your tomorrows. He's gone before, walks behind, levels mountains, uncurls windy roads, and He is still splitting seas! Rise up and roar, for the time is now to step into your purpose!! I believe 2021 is filled with wins for us! Lookout year, the Deborah’s are coming for you!!
